  Blog # 23,  February 21, 2023   Gallery Hopping NY.  Catherine Abrams Drawings of Jennifer Bartlett who died recently (July 2022) were on exhibit at Marianne Boesky Gallery. This Yale educated American artist combined Minimalism, Abstract Expressionism and Conceptual art in her approach to art.  Walls of drawings on graph paper of schematic house drawings, geometric drawings and color grids became the basis of her work Rhapsody. Houses, 2005 House, Dots and Hatches, 1999 Rhapsody, MoMA, 2011 Rhapsody. MoMA. 2011 From the Press Release. 2023 The color grid drawings, which the artist began in 1970, incorporate a rainbow of color segments arranged within swaths of metallic paint, as Bartlett explores the effects and patterns she can create using color. Catherine Abrams at catherineabrams80@gmail.com, Instagram: Catherine Abrams 88 METROPOLITAN MUSEUM EXHIBIT Chroma:  Ancient Sculpture in Color   This exhibit was exceptionally interesting for me since all my life I have seen the original Ancient Greek sculptures without color. Αυτη η εκθεση ηταν πολυ ενδιαφερουσα για μενα μια και παντα εβλεπα τα εκθεματα χωρις χρωμα.  Καπως ετσι¨ The scholarship and the presentation was carefully done but the visual results were lacking.  Maybe the major draw back was that the paint pigments used were too high gloss.   Casein base colors could have been closer to the original. Αυτα εινα μερικα δειγματα απο την εκθεση.  Αν και η μελετη και η παρουσιαση των εκθεματων ειναι προσεγμενη τα αποτελεσματα δεν ηταν πειστικα.  Οι χρωστικες ουσιες στα αγαλματα θα εφερναν καλυτερα αποτελεσματα αν ηταν απο κασεηνη.
