G allery Hopping NY. September 25, 2022 John Mack had a show at the space on 537 West 27th street. "A Space Between Worlds: Our Nature Our Screens" examines our relations with our electronic devices such as cell phones and the natural world. My reaction was that the topic was not clearly presented and what was a major put off was the viewership process which was disengaging. Outside the door of the exhibiting space which looked like a ground floor gallery, there were two men in dark suits that looked like security guards. That had a chilling effect since it signal anticipation of "trouble". They greeted me and asked my to enter and go to the far left setting the stage for a "controlled "experience. The lady at the desk asked my to download an app to be able to view the show. During the downloading process I had to fill out a questionnaire that included personal information such as name, gender, race, location etc, that I felt uneasy to...

September 8 to 11, 2022 the Armory Show took place at the Javich Center in New York City. The event was very well organized with many participating artists. I am attaching a YouTube link of a 10 minutes video that presents the show at its best. https://youtu.be/t3vOWsV3Uzk ------------------------------------------------------------------- The New York Historical Society presented a retrospective show of the work of the German-American artist and graphic designer Winold Reiss (1886-1953). His portraits were mostly done on paper with color pencils or pastels. A series of portraits emphasized the head of the sitter and described the body with a clear expressive drawing line. BLOG: Gallery Hopping NY September 10, 2022 #3 Art on Paper Pier 36, 299 South Street, New York NY 10002 About 100 galleries participated in the Art on Paper event this year. The works covered a wide spectrum of styles. There were works by well known artists such as Alex Katz, Marc Chagall, Robert Rauschenberg, Robert Motherwell, Saul Steinberg, James Rosenquist, Norman Bluhm, Paul Cadmus, Will Barnett, Paul Jenkins, Ed Rucha, the Norwegian Odd Nerdrum and others. A number of artists printed high resolution photographs on paper, or manipulated the printed photographs staying in a realistic format. One of them is the Frenchman Thierry Genay. Thierry Genay is a French photographer, whose work mirrors lifestyles, humanist mundane reality, illustrative or spiritual, reflection on nature's harmony,...and mirrors intimacy.
